Mentor Basketball Association Travel Teams
Travel teams are intended for the player who is
interested in taking their game to a higher level by
acquiring advanced basketball training. Players will get
exposure in: multiple offensive plays, man to man defenses,
press defenses, to name a few, that are not available in the
rec league.
Each travel team will practice 1 to 2 times a week in
addition to their regular rec team practice.
Players will have the option of playing on both a
travel and rec team, or travel team only.
4th, 5th & 6th grade boys and 6th grade girls
will participate in a travel league, a ten (10) game
schedule with all games being played on Sunday. If players
participate in both the travel team and the rec team, they
will be playing 2 games on Sunday.
The teams will also participate in 5-7 tournaments that
are normally held in December - March.
5th grade girls will participate in 4-6
tournaments from December - March. The team will practice
102 a week with regular scrimmages.
3rd grade boys and 4th grade girls
teams
will be picked in January 2009, and will participate in 1-2
tournaments in March.
All players selected will be assessed a fee. This fee
will cover the cost of the uniform, all travel and
tournament games. The fee that is charged does not cover all
of the costs. The Mentor Tournament that will be held in
March will help defray the total cost. Each parent will be
asked to volunteer to assist in this tournament.
Players participating in both a travel team and a rec team
will need to pay both fees.
